The last week of Basketball has been crazy, during a week where I personally tried to stay away from the NBA and focus on College stuff and the holidays. But there is no way to avoid the boom of growing trade talks which we expected to come at the turn of the new year.

I'd like to pride myself in my prediction ability because I felt a way bout Jimmy and the Heat back at the start of the year. I'll tell you this, i'm not surprised at all this happened. After the Pat Riley diss back in the offseason it just felt inevitable. And I don't blame Jimmy for it, he carried their ass for years and they didn't pay him. I think the Heat should at least give him the respect of trading him to where he wants to go.

Coming back to Jimmy, I hate how Jimmy always has to end up in these situations where he has to force his way out but I also don't blame him. Look at every team he has played for and tell me they are well run organisations (I'll get to the heat). And if you are a star, or even just the character of Jimmy Butler you don't just stand there and watch dumb stuff happen in a team you play for. And I think it's something you have to respect him for. He wants to win and it shows man. But I don't want to shift the blame all off him. I think he could go through this in a much more respectful way, now am I in the heat building? No. do I know what Jimmy Butler was doing prior to the Press conference? No. But from my own perspective, throughout his career he's used the Media to get what he wants a lot, and I think in a situation like this where it isn't the fans or players or the city your unhappy with, why do you have to go to the media.

The easy hypothesis is Pat Riley is just impossible to work with as a star. Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O'neal, Dwayne Wade, LEBRON JAMES. you drove away these stars, guys who are all hall of famers were driven away by this guy. Pat Riley is an incredible basketball mind and for everything he's done for the game he is a legend. But isn't it somewhat worrying, heat fans let me know, that he can't keep a star. Maybe he's got too much of an ego, he got all rights to have one but maybe that's affected how he works. Anyway, what do you think is the reason for him coming to the media, who do you blame?

Now the fun part, the trade rumours.

News we got is Jimmy Butler, DOES NOT want to be traded to the grizzlies. Originally we were told all 29 other teams were viable options for Jimmy, but now this comes out it adds another layer to building trades for him, where does jimmy want to go?

The obvious teams is probably teams in Texas. The only team that probably would be interested is Houston. A young team that needs a veteran guy to help them in the playoffs and Jimmy is a verified Playoff bucket getter. Now what would a trade look like with them. The rockets have picks and young guys so they have a lot of what a team would look for, Dillon Brooks probably has to be involved, maybe Steven Adams and then a young guy. The obvious one for me is Cam Whitmore, he isn't going to fully request a trade but he doesn't seem satisfied for with his role and if Jimmy Butler was to join them it wouldn't change for him. Now do the Rockets really need him, No. it isn't a necessary move but I think it's a good one but a risky one. and It really comes back to Pat Rileys own question, can Butler give me star production In the future. Now if the price of Jimmy Butler is going to keep dropping, I think it's worth the risk, especially if he wants to be there. I love the fit but it all depends on his current market price.

Phoenix seems like one of the only other teams to take him, the problem is what does Phoenix have that the Heat want. Nothing, at least that they give up. It aint Ryan Dunn so what is it. You got no picks, no young guys you just got Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic. You've basically got to persuade Jimmy to force the trade to Phoenix himself. But if you can get it done DO IT. This is my favourite right now for landing him. I don't like the fit much but its much better than Beal and your desperate to get off him so you have to try this.

The Last place Is the Warriors. I actually really like this, I think it's something you have to try as a service to Curry, you have young assets and your own picks and nothing seems to gel. I feel like at this point point you have to try move kuminga as he is going to be uber expensive in freee agency and he doesn't fit well with Curry, i'm sure the heat will be somewhat interested in him, I guess you have other guys as well like Podziemski who should be available to add to your roster. But I also think if you do this move you could look back in 2-3 years and regret it very easily. Im not totally sure. In would like to hear what warriors fans think as it would be interesting. after failing the Lauri Markannen trade last offseason that you really regret not doing is this a panic move for a panic team? Let me know man?

Lemme know what you think, any other options he could go to. for me I think it will end up being Phoenix, I think he probably wants to go there and him rejecting the grizzlies seems to leave them as one of the last real options that we know want him.
