WHO COULD PHOENIX PICK AT 10 AND 29?

Phoenix:

Well lets look at the general roster construction of the team!

Over Abundance: Wings! Phoenix have WAY too many wings, Booker, Beal, Green, Brooks, Cody Martin, Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neal, Ryan Dunn. Thats a shitload. Expect a trade of some assets here. I think that Cody Martin for example could be the move, Miami has interest apparently but that was in case of a KD trade which has not materialised. I tink generally a lot of teams could use his defence such as my Hawks. Dunn should be kept around, Beal should be moved if it can happen and the Rest should be kept as they make a very competitive wing rotation.

Needs: Like everywhere else, needs Bigs and some true playmaking in my opinion. I do think they have enough players in that wing group who will run the guard positions for them compared to players there who will fill in at the 4 so I think we will focus on adding a 4 and a 5! again in further trades they can add assets in these needs so we will be working with the mindset there are no further trades this offseason.

PICK 10

Derik Queen:

A very interesting skilled center I think is the most likely to end up in Phoenix on Wednesday night, I think this should not be their pick on the night though, he is undersized and lack a lot of defence which really hinders them in my opinion where they need players with other skills. Now something they could really benefit from is the playmaking skills Queen could bring to them where they need it. As always check out my big board with my draft profiles on to see my opinion on each player.

Noa Essengue:

Much more a forward who adds a lot of defensive impact all over the court as well as runs in transition which I think is very important in the game as it continues to develop, now I think Phoenix would ideally need to add a creator help out Essengue as the guy doesn't not create his own shots but he's aggressive, has a high upside and has length to be very impactful all over. if he's there at 10 i'm taking him personally

Rasheer Fleming:

Someone I'm one of the highest on this website on who I think would make a lot of sense, now similarly to Essengue he is a very impactful defender from perimeter to the basket and also would require strong playmaking around him, he's a smart cutter and a great 3pt shooter. Contrasting Essengue would be he is a lot older and he generates fouls to a lot lower rate but a similar position guy with extreme length and if you can grab a center at 29 to pair with him you can make a very interesting duo.

Asa Newell:

A Center who can be a lob threat and aggressive driver transition player who is somewhat undersized, has shown the ability to knock down some shots. Makes sense to Phoenix in my head now I don't now if there is a tonne of upside here but he makes sense schematically and I think he has a skillset that makes sense for todays league and the direction the league is going in to where this pick makes some sense to me.

PICK 29

Ryan Kalkbrenner:

Anchor center who is a very effective drop defender and an efficient scorer who showed some ability to step out and knock down the three occasionally, I personally am not sure if he is a great pick here I think he's a good player but I think him being very slow and heavy footed may not help out the Suns ideally.

Hansen Yang:

Huge upside pick.... not athletic but he put up strong defensive number in china and is very skilled as a passer and creator and has ability to knock down some shots and has some interesting post moves but he is not ready for the NBA day 1 there's a lot to work to do with the speed of his game and athletically to make him work.

Yanic Konan Niederhauser:

Rim running Big man who is a little older, could really help to compete today and is generally a safe player. but in my opinion when moving into a competitive direction im thinking about what will win me a final and in my opinion you got to hunt for shooting upside I don't think thats there personally.

Danny Wolf?:

I don't think he's gonna be there but he's interesting in a similar way to Derik Queen where there's some real playmaking ups there where he can run some really interesting playmaking and he shoots the ball very well but he cant really defend plus in my opinion, especially in Danny wolfs case, he is more of a 4 so we are having to pair him with more of a rime guy and then I don't think your generally getting the same upside as a spacing 5.

Who else could they target?
