First Round of Draft
Ausar Thompson Pick 8
Kobe Bufkin Pick 18
Heat explanation: After this year’s surprising Finals run, the Heat should look to get better. Adding Beal would be amazing. He’s a good shooter, can create offense, and would complement Jimmy really well. He does have a questionable contract but they also get rid of Lowry and Robinson so the contracts evens out. 2 firsts for Beal should be a no brainer for Miami.
Knicks explanation: Tingus Pingus returns to the Big Apple and fits the squad really well. He’d allow the Knicks to have some better spacing, which they really need, and he can fill in nicely for Robinson on the defensive side. They also get rid of Fournier’s bad contract and give up 2 firsts that aren’t that valuable.
Clippers explanation: Simple swap that makes a lot of sense if Westbrook doesn’t come back. Covington didn’t really play this year so getting a steady point guard makes a lot of sense.
Thunder explanation: Another small move, OKC gets a great backup for Shai and Giddey that complements both well because of his great defense. Mann hasn’t proven anything thus far so flipping him for Wright makes sense.
Wizards explanation: Hopefully the Wizards signing a new GM means that they’re gonna blow it up, because that it what has been needing to happen for years. Staying in mediocrity is the worst thing a team can do and Washington has been doing it for years. Getting Ausar and Bufkin as the backcourt of the future is huge and would give them some hope for the future. I expect them to be one of the worst teams in the league after this so they can add to their young core in the future.
