After trading for Ja, the Blazers have a few holes in their roster that need fixing. They are cluttered at the point guard position and don't have enough depth in the front court
If I'm the Blazers right now, I am not making anymore blockbuster trades and I would be trying to fix the roster issues without ruining cap space. Deni, Ja, Clingan and Scoot will all be up for extensions soon, so it's imperative the Blazers remain cap-space positive. From here, they should try to build a long-term contending team, not a short-term one. Here's how they can do it:
Trade Jrue and Krejčí to the Rockets for DFS, Adams and JD Davidson. This fixes both the Blazers front-court depth issues and clutter at the point guard position. DFS and Adams contracts are very team-friendly and will allow the Blazers to re-assess their situation in the coming seasons if need be. Blazers could potentially get draft pick/s from Rockets in this trade as well
Sign Rui in Free Agency. Rui is a perfect fit, is extremely versatile, spaces the floor from the front-court and can give the Blazers good starting minutes if anyone goes down with injury. Only 28 years old, so he should still be a good rotational player for them once Dame has retired
Blazers would still have a few roster spots to fill out. After making these moves, I feel like Bruce Brown would be a great fit to replace some of the perimeter defence that they lose trading Jrue
This puts the Blazers in a great position. Roster issues fixed, improves the team, maximizes their window with Dame, no draft picks traded, cap space still intact, in position to re-sign their star players when the time comes and plenty of contract flexibility
