HAWKS: I feel like the Hawks have the ingredients to be a very high-performing team. They already have one of the best defenses, but now they need to focus on ensuring that they have the right pieces around Jalen Johnson, who has shown that he can be an elite-basketball player when performing at his best. McCollum was an interesting addition to this team. I feel like his ball usage is too high, and it has clearly taken a toll on Jalen Johnson's performances (I have Jalen Johnson on my fantasy team, so I know). I'm not saying Jalen Johnson is Lebron, but his role is pretty similar, and Kyrie has excelled as a kind of offball slasher who can shoot and just operate as an off-ball threat who can take over when necessary. With a ring under his belt, I think he could help take this Hawks team to the finals. The Hawks also need a reliable center, a rim-protector and rebounder, and they get that in Claxton, who's on a rather team-friendly deal. Although I feel bad giving up Zach here, I think Naji Marshall is the perfect 3 and D wing who can be inserted into the starting lineup or be brought off the bench when necessary. The bench would consist of NAW, Naji, Vit, Gueye and a couple other guys who could be brought in and out. I would love a Dyson, Kyrie, JJ, Okongwu, Clax lineup. They give away a 2027 top 10 protected first which won't be of too much use to them after the addition of a 2026 top 5 pick.
MAVERICKS: They don't have a sustainable team to compete so the rebuild must start now. YOu get a frontcourt wing to couple with Cooper a long with a quality 2027 first round pick, which would most likely fall in the top-20. They also get an expiring contract with McCollum which will give them more flexibility with finances.
WARRIORS: They want to maximize Steph Curry's window and they do. They appeal Kuminga's demands too. They get a secondary scorer next to Steph with MPJ, who's been playing at all-star level. Though he has struggled to stay healthy, KP's rim protection, rebounding and ability to stretch the floor will prove vital when he plays. I understand the draft capital they giveup might be overwhelming, but they are getting two borderline all-star calibar players, for a guy who doesn't wanna be in GSW and a guy with a torn-ACL. The 2029 pick is lottery protected so they can tank effectively. They don't trade their 2026 first round pick either which I prioritized.
NETS: They don't want to be good at basketball in one of the deepest draft classes in recent years. So, they effectively get worse. They take on Jimmy's salary and acquire a young stud in Kuminga. Improve their draft slot in the 2027 and 2029 NBA drafts, along with getting a 2029 lottery-protected pick. I could see the Nets receiving too little of value here, which I would be open to altering, however they could restructure Jimmy's contract and open hiim to the trade market during next year's trade deadline, or have him mentor the young players, which could be beneficial.
