76ers Incentive: The Sixers who are coming off a disastrous season may have felt a sense of hope after some lottery luck and managing to land the 3rd Pick of this year’s draft. What seemingly signifies their sign to push past their several self inflicted wounds and focus on developing the young core of Maxey, McCain and Grimes (to name a few). However, one may wonder whether that’d truly be the best direction for a team that embodies the carcass of the failed “Process”. In this trade; The 76ers make a great escape from PG’s egregious contract for the price of the 3rd pick in a relatively shallow draft class while adding the greatest scorer of this generation to their already stacked roster.
Starting 5 Post-Trade Maxey, Grimes, Oubre Jr., Durant, Embiid 6th: McCain
Suns Incentive: If I were to explain the Suns situation to someone who doesn’t follow the NBA I’d compare it to being an aspiring young musician who has pursued music to provide for your family and move them out the hood. After a couple successful albums you manage to get signed on a multimillion contract with a big time record label, except the problem is you’ve just signed to Diddy and he’s not letting you release any new music unless you become a regular participant at his afterparties and get oiled and stretched out like curly fries. Anyway, this trade hands the Suns the best backcourt in the league and a much needed perimeter defender to the Valley.
Starting 5 Post-Trade Young, Booker, George, O’Neale, Richards 6th: Jones
Hawks Incentive: Once Capela leaves in free agency, the 2021 Eastern Conference finalist Hawks roster will almost be completely disassembled with Trae and Okongwu the two lone survivors. Since the creation of the Play-In Tournament, the Hawks have been mid and although after this trade they’ll still be mid, they acquire the necessary pieces to form one of the best young rosters in the league, without having to tanking.
Starting 5 Post-Trade Daniels, Beal, Risacher, Johnson, Okongwu 6th: Bailey
