Im going to do a little Cam Johnson trade list. what I think a potential trade between teams may look like, what I think hes worth, see if anyones got any thoughts.
OKC
This is a very good situation for cam Johnson, you expect him to be coming off the bench and getting pure buckets. doesn't need to be his best defensively since OKC is absolutely insane on that end. For me OKC still needs to add connective pieces. stop hovering on these picks. im not saying go on a spending spree but you have an opportunity and I think a lot of teams problem is they sit on their hands with young assets and picks when they're a contender. You shouldn't be thinking about developing a rookie next year or in 2026 you should be trying to move your own picks for a few years and some other interesting picks. Anyway, Cam Johnson is a very low risk, high reward guy. He is shooting 39.8% over his career, he's been effective on a team that was competitive only a few years ago and hes been shining on a team where he doesn't really have guys helping him out. You obviously don't have to persuade the nets to trade him. he will be gone by the deadline but this is the ideal situation for him. Doesn't have to do a massive role. he can focus on what he does best and when the team needs it, he's ready to step up, hit clutch shots and add to a competitive team. Now you give up Kenrich Williams, I'll give him his flowers, been efficient but he doesn't have a large role and you don't stress about losing him. The real question is Aaron Wiggins or Isaiah Joe, to me? I'd trade Isaiah Joe. He is a valuable 3 and D guy, was very good last year in this role but he hasn't been efficient this year and you really base his success in his role off pure efficiency and volume. It's good volume, not great efficiency. and since Cam Johnson is taking his role you don't lose much. Cam Johnson is more efficient and does enough to fill this role. Aaron Wiggins is more well rounded, he's been more efficient in almost identical playing time, I just think he's more valuable to them.
Where does this leave them?
Contenders, they were before but you definitely buy into a team like this fixing their own problems and being aggressive in their progression. Now they aren't perfect. I'd like to see another playmaker for them and another stretch big guy who can do some stuff Chet does when he's out (something I think will be common for him unfortunately.) But I don't think you have to worry to much about them, Shai is a top 3 guy right now, Jalen Williams is incredible on both sides of the ball, big fan of how he plays and you've got valuable guys and effective guys all around the shop.
NETS
Nothing much to say, probably the most value you can get is from the Thunder, it's 2 picks. one less valuable one in a class you don't have many picks for, and a Denver pick in 2027 that could you could really value. Isaiah Joe just signed his deal but he could be a young guy to put around your 4+ rookies next year and show some nice potential. Your just happy to tank and get some picks.
