The Sixers do this to solidify their front court and contention in the East. They hang onto Batum, would could be swapped for RoCo in the trade but given how Batum is playing thus far it makes sense for Philly to keep Batum over RoCo.

Muscala gives the Sixers another true center that is capable of shooting the three. He’s on an expiring deal and give them needed depth behind Embiid.

The Wizards get a first round pick for Kuz, three seconds, and two expiring contracts. They may want another first because Kuz is having a career year but I was hesitant to add that.

The Sixers could give up one additional first instead of three seconds. This is a tank move for them for the Wizards.
