The Thunder play in a conference where the top teams have a lot of bulk. In the playoffs, they may need to be playing teams like the Nuggets (Jokic), and the Wolves (KAT and Gobert). Chet is probably best suited as a 4, given his frame, and the Thunder probably need a legit big man to help deal with the size other teams will be throwing at them in the playoffs.
For the Raptors, the Siakam and OG trades signal a clear rebuild. The Raps traded a lightly protected first and two seconds for Poeltl last year, when he was an expiring contract, but now Poeltl has a new long term contract in place, so two firsts does not seem like an unreasonable ask, especially since the ones in this deal are lower value (Houston's should be late teens next year and Philly's is probably late 20's)
On a financial side, this also gives the Raps a lot of financial flexibility this summer. The Raps already can have up to $40M in cap space if they turn down Bruce Brown's option, and this move adds about $24M to that. It's unclear who they might target in the summer, especially since two of the top free agents are Siakam and OG, but, maybe they go for younger upside pieces like Jalen Smith, maybe take a run at Nic Claxton (also a UFA), or try to get someone like Pat Williams in the RFA market. Either way, with Siakam's contract off the books, Scottie being on his last year or his rookie deal, and Quickley's low cap hold, it might be an opportune time to test the free agent market.
