Read a rumor that Cleveland were trying to get a trade done at the draft, sending off Rubio and Sexton with a protected pick. 6ers quickly declined but apparently the asking price for Simmons is astronomical even though it appears Simmons is done with Philly.
Most (even us as can see it) see that Philly needs to lower their asking price for Simmons, otherwise things may come to a head once pre season starts.

On paper the fit would look good. If Mobleys offensive game is as advertised, he can help ease the load off of Simmons outside game. Where I see an issue is with Simmons and Allen sharing the same court, but you hope that Galand, Mobley and even Okoro can help space the floor a bit. Alternatively Allen would be a great lob threat with Simmons handling the ball. At this point, the Cavs shouldn't be giving up first round picks. However, putting a lottery protection on next year's (if they make the playoffs the trade more than pays off) should be worth the risk. And if they do draft in 2022, the theory being that Mobley, Garland, Simmons and the 2022 pick should be good enough where the 2024 pick should be "inconsequential".

Make a side way move with an eye on vet leadership in the future. Having Wall and Rubio on the same team may look redundant, especially with KPj as the Rockets incumbent 1 guard. However, i 100% feel like Wall and KPj will start (KPj on the wing) this season which means that there will be a shortage of point guard help from the bench (next up would be DJ Agustine) AND the idea of wanting to move on from Wall and his $44m contract as early as this trade deadline means Rubio would fall into that vet leadership role, not just for KPj but for fellow Countryman Usman Garuba.

This is tough. But this is also the fall from grace by Simmons that Philly need to deal with. Here there get ultimate role players and double down on Embiid and Harris as the two points of offense. Gordon should help as one of the leagues best 6th men, Nance can help fill the role left behind by Simmons (while not the elite passer Simmons is, his assist #s increase in Cleveland) and they get a score first point guard in Sexton. Can Sexton be a part of a new "big 3" for Philly? Maybe. Otherwise those picks should help as either trade amo, or being able to hit on someone in the draft.
