(This trade is successfulโ ๏ธ Just cant trade Max until the 15th of December)
The Lakers have gotten rid of part of the problem in Darvin Ham, but that wasn't "THE" problem as the Lakers roster is still very poorly constructed.
JJ Reddick can make all the right rotations and say all the right things but that won't fix the holes this roster currently has.
According to Brian Windhorst: The Brooklyn Nets are open to trading just about everyone on the team. My thoughts are the only exception is Nic Claxton โ๏ธ
Per NBA insider Michael Scotto: Dennis Schroeder has a current trade value of multiple second-round picks "as a potential rental."
As for forward Cam Johnson, Scotto reported: He "may be able to fetch a future first-round pick in return if the Nets trade him before the deadline."
Why would the Lakers ๐ do this trade !??
They won the 2020 championship ๐ with size and defense while currently they lack in both areas ๐ฅถ
Not only do the Lakers lack in Defense and size, but they also lack in 3 point shooting ranking 27th in 3s made in a game
Cameron Johnson on average makes 3.3 3s a game with a fantastic 3 point percentage of .43% ๐ฏ He also scores 18.5 a game on 48% helping the Lakers with depth.
The Lakers are missing size and defense, especially an impactful big man. The Lakers are ranked 27th in rebounds and 26th in defensive rating in which Robert Williams would come in handy โฒ๏ธ
In Roberts last two seasons with the Celtics he averaged around 9 rebounds a game, a steal and 2 blocks. Which is the exact kind of grit the Lakers are looking for! ๐ซก
Lakers will need someone to replace Dlo's role as he will be sent away to match contracts. What better guy to do that than Dennis Schroeder whose already familiar with the team and has played playoff basketball with LeBron already.
Dennis adds defense that Dlo never had ๐ as well as much higher basketball on court IQ and awareness
What would the potential Lakers starting lineup look like !??
Dennis, Austin, LeBron, Rui, AD
With the likes of Dalton, Reddish, Cam, Robert on the bench!
Why would the Portland Trailblazers ๐ do this !??
Jarred Vanderblit is only 25 years old and offers tremendous on ball defense with just over a steal a game in the last 5 seasons. He's on a very team friendly deal ๐ค and helps the Blazers long-term.
Max Christie is a 6'6 guard whose only 21 years old and is filled with potential. He averages 36% from 3 in his career and currently logs in a steal and half a block per game ๐ซ
The Blazers would be receiving two young guys on team friendly contracts who they could build off long term with their current rebuild.
Why would the Brooklyn Nets ๐ฝ do this !??
They get a valuable first back for Cam Johnson โ ๏ธ
They get the market value return for Dennis Schroeder with multiple seconds, who could be a rental if paid in free agency.
They have the ability to ship Dlo if another party wants him.
I think this trade would "SAVE" the Lakers as it fills all their current HOLES/NEEDS in the team - Let me know in the comments down below ๐ฌ And make sure to leave a like ๐
