This deal might piss off all parties involved but there are always a lot of variables that should be considered. Variables such as contract situations/scenarios, extensions, status of the team come deadline etc. So try and hear me out.

Sixers RFS (Reason For Selling): This deal beefs up Philly’s depth all around. That may not seem like an immediate need but it certainly puts them among the elite contenders in the league. Kyle Kuzma is an upgrade from Harris as a truer stretch-4. Clarkson is a more established 6th man which clears up Melton as the starting 2 guard. Beasley adds more shooting and Vanderbilt adds length and defensive versatility. Boston is the target matchup here, and they’ll need these kinds of pieces to match them. With the exception of Vanderbilt, all these players are at the point of their respective careers wherein having a legitimate shot at a chip takes priority.

Jazz RFS: The Jazz are already set with all their picks. Pairing Markkanen with a young explosive guard like Maxey sets them up for a very bright future, especially with so many high value picks. Harris adds wing scoring and could thrive in a smaller market environment and a new system. As for Barton, being in a 1 year deal certainly makes him seem more of a money dump in this deal however, much like Harris, Utah may be an opportunity for him to revive his career. As for letting go of Clarkson and Beasley, it’s a matter of being unwilling to extend them to max contracts, especially for Clarkson who’s turning 32 soon.

Wizards RFS: The Wiz have desperately needed a PG since John Wall missed 2 seasons due to injuries. Conley is an older PG but he’s exactly what they’ve been looking for. He’s shown that he’s still incredibly effective and still makes a big impact to winning games. It’s also worth noting that they can’t keep relying on young players to compliment a 30+ year old Beal either. This is a team stuck in the play-in realm with no signs of giving into being a lottery team. So if they are in fact all in on winning with Beal, a deal like this shouldn’t worry them. They keep their young talent, picks but also gain a veteran starting PG and a defensive specialist at the wing spot in Thybulle.
