For Denver, this trade is about getting Brandon Williams and Champagnie. They trade Christian Braun for Klay Thompson as a filler, Brandon Williams and a second round pick. Then they turn around and use that second round pick and one of their own to grab Champagnie from Washington. Champagnie then starts at shooting guard, giving Denver two 3 and D shooters on the wings in him and Cam. They also get what they badly need, a backup ball handler and bench PG. Plus having Klay Thompson coming off the bench wouldn’t hurt anybody. 3 very solid rotational pieces for 1 iffy looking Christian Braun.
Dallas gets an actual serviceable shooting guard, as Klay Thompson has been horrendous this year and I don’t see him getting any better. In exchange for Christian Braun they basically only give up Brandon Williams and a second round pick. This trade favors both sides.
