Let's face reality. KD is old, a ball hog, bad for the locker room, a mediocre defender and not even that efficient with all the midrange shots he takes. The Suns are a disaster and will be bad in 2026 and 2027 whilst Beal is under contract even if KD is traded for parts to a different team. The Rockets aren't giving up the hyper valuable Suns picks for KD but they will for Booker who is younger, can play defence and is the closer the Rockets need for the next 5 years.

Greens contract makes the money work and he has the potential to be fringe all start if he develops with more touches in Phoenix. Sheppard and Whitmore are both young promising guards and they solve the Suns backcourt problems by having a real point guard to build around for the future. THey also shed some cap which gives more flexibility. Most importantly the SUns get their picks back and can rest and rebuild around their young core.

The Nets take on Landale to help with center depth and get some seconds for absorbing salary.
