Warriors Takeaway
Currently, it's clear that the Warriors are facing inner-spacing problems as younger generations such as Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody aren't having enough time they deserve on the court. In this case, it's important and urgent for the Warriors to find a way to solve this.
If I'm the Warriors, with players like Kuminga now complaining about not having enough time and chances, clearing spaces at the forward-sector will be the priority.
In the status quo, since the Warriors have an urgent need to seek for trade, I don't think it's plausible for them to even think of getting players such as Pascal Siakam or Lauri Markkanen because other teams also know that the Warriors doesn't really have a choice and that will take good use of this advantage.
Andrew Wiggins v.s. Jonathan Kuminga: For the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga's roles on the court are highly symmetrical, getting rid of either one of them is inevitable. In comparison, Wiggins has four years of long, sloppy, and expensive contracts that can cause extremely heavy burdens to the Warriors if they want to trade any players later. However, in terms of JK, he's a younger talented that was drafted 7th overall by the Warriors themselves and is now still in his rookie contract. With Warriors now reaching the apron, Kuminga in terms of the salary aspect and the longevity aspect is the better choice for the Warriors.
With Andrew Wiggins out of the roster, it mainly brings two major practical benefits to the Warriors. Firstly, in terms of Jonathan Kuminga, Wiggins absence means that he will have a significant rise on his MPG and chance on court, this allows a future talent like him to reach his full extent. Secondly, in terms of salary, getting rid of Andrew Wiggins's expensive four year deal in exchange of two way cheaper and shorter deals from the Cavs simply makes future trades more plausible for the Warriors.
I don't think in the status quo, the Warriors can still have the narrative in which they believe that Andrew Wiggins + other things will bring back an all-star. It's time for Warriors fan to understand that this might be the best scenario for them right now.
Cavaliers Takeaways
For the Cavs, simply with two all-star back courts in their roster and two very talented rim-protectors, the only weakness in their line up is their SF. Devoting 2 second-round picks that don't really care about and Okoro, they simply levels-up Caris Levert into Andrew Wiggins. Note that even if Andrew is kind of struggling this season, he's still an elite defender and an above-average scorer. Acquiring him is definitely an upgrade to the Cavs starting lineup as there won't be any obvious holes in their rosters any more.
It's kind of obvious that Cavs will have the incentive to do this trade so I don't think there is a need for further explanation on this.
At the end of the day, the Cavs would have one of the most well-rounded starting lineup in the league with Garland, Mitchell, Wiggins, Mobley, and Allen plus Strus as the 6th man.
