WHY IT MAKES NO SENSE:

Would they get better? No, they'd be actually worse. You'd also waste one year of LaMelo and "team chemistry" with a bad fit.

What if they do it with Plumlee instead of Rozier? No, they'd pay luxury. It makes no sense paying luxury for a team struggling to make play in.

Should they save money? No, right now they can easily pay Bridges without paying luxury. And next year Batum is off the books so they have additional "breath".

Is it their plan to create cap space for a big free agent in 2023? No, Charlotte's market is not that big to think about a plan like that.

THEN, WHY COULD THIS HAPPEN?

1) Westbrook is a Jordan athlete and for whatever reason still have a good fanbase, so having him in a Hornets jersey could make MJ (and Nike) good money.

2) Maybe It's just me, but could they just want to keep their pick next year? It's 1-16 protected, maybe they want to kind of "tank".

3) Rich Paul: No, he's not Westbrook's agent. But he's Bron's agent: what if he told Hornets to do this favor to Lakers (Lebron) in exchange of "future adventages"? Like bigger free agents being convinced to sign for them or I don't know, but Rich Paul has A LOT of influence.
