Bucks are buyers, get MPJ to contend in East. Lakers shore up defense with Portis. Kings are the Kings. Nets get picks.

SUCCESS

Bucks go all in for a playoff run (and to keep Giannis happy) with MPJ who is blowing up this year. Give up two firsts to Nets, one mid, one potentially high. Trade Portis to Lakers for a lottery protected first. Unload Kuzma to Kings for high second rounder,

Nets were 7-4 in December... too much winning for a team that wants a top 3 pick. They need to get worse, and unloading Porter is their best option to do it. Main incentive from Bucks is picks. Facilitate Lakers and Kings trades for picks, expiring Klieber, Monk, and a few low cost former first rounders (Knecht, Carter) who have potential but are out of rotations for current team. They'll attempt to flip Monk's bad contract, but good luck. Either way they can afford to take on some bad money for picks. They waive Klieber and someone else (Wilson, Martin, etc.?) to get down to max 15 players.

Lakers shore up defense with Portis, who is a dog and a good 3-point shooter. Give up a lottery protected first for him (Bucks made them pay, but Lakers want to compete now). They'll need to sign someone on the minimum to get up to min 14 players.

Kings do Kings things, adding Kuzma for a high second in hopes that he can be a solution at PF while Keegan Murray moves to SF. Big lineup with some additional scoring punch. Also get off of Monk's bad contract for Kuzma's shorter bad contract. This may not be the Kings only trade (they might try to unload Lavine and/or Derozan), but I didn't want to further complicate this trade.

I welcome comments, but please no comments without supporting reasoning (e.g. "Hawks pass".' Don't be a hater. If you’re going to say something, make it meaningful or don't bother).
