Warriors get Jimmy Butler, Haywood Highsmith and Alec Burks for Andrew Wiggins, De'Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II, Jonathan Kuminga, 2 firsts, and a second.
Why the Warriors do it: They could greatly benefit from a 2-way wing. It would be the first time since Philly that Jimmy Butler wouldn't be the best player on a playoff team. Imagine Steph and Jimmy healthy together in the playoffs. They are both known to be better in the playoffs. The Warriors also get off Andrew Wiggins' contract.
Why the Heat do it: The Heat have tried surrounding Jimmy with okay players for years. Even with Bam's progression, it's not working out. This way, they don't lose Jimmy Butler for nothing. The Heat also get back 2 first round picks. One that is in 2028. The Warriors could be terrible in 2028. Pat Riley might be able to get some pick swaps in the deal as well, if the Heat could get a pick swap in 2029 or 2031 or both the trade could end up being a mistake for the Warriors. Steph will likely be retired or at least won't be great. Same with Jimmy. Warriors could be a dumpster fire. Heat also get Jonathan Kuminga who has shown flashes that tell us he could be a great player one day. He's young and still developing. As long as he gets a lot of minutes with the Heat, he should develop nicely. Heat culture will be good for him. And once the Heat get off Andrew Wiggins contract, they'll have some money to sign people in FA.
