Boston: A
Everyone knew that had to move Holiday, as one of the starters that makes the least sense to keep long term, moving him for Simons is a great move. He plays nothing like Holiday, but I see him as a super powered Sam Hauser replacement. His 3pt shooting perfectly fits this offense while their defense can cover for his weakness on that end, one of the better returns for a deal where I was expecting no real long term contributors.
Portland: C
Honestly, I’m confused. Is this gonna be like the last time Jrue was in Portland, where they look for a better destination or is this like a mentor. On the one hand if he stays, the whole point of moving Simons was to make way for Scoot to take the starting job, adding Holiday gives them a mento but also how does this lineup look now. Is it gonna be Holiday at the 2 with Toumani off the bench, but Holiday does fit what Portland prioritized last year that got them an 18-10 run late in the season. If this is a move to flip him later it makes a little more sense. I’m just overall confused on Portlands reasoning for the deal as a whole.
