Why the Cavs do this? Harden/Mitchell duo was terrible defensively, and adding Lebron to the equation would make it even worse. Harden was so lazy and terrible in defense that i belive his value is at his lowest rn. Here they turn James and Schroder into 4 players. One of those 4 is quite possibly the worst contract in the Nba, but at least you get 3 seconds and a few usefull players to compensate.

Bulls do this just to get rid of Patrick 3yr contract. They lose some decent players in the process, but they are all only worth a few 2nd rounders, so they should do this very easily. They will get a lot of cap space next season when Harden's deal expire aswell.
