Why Orlando Does It:

• The Magic need playmaking and spacing around Paolo and Franz, Simons is a flamethrower offensively he can create for himself and is also a threat as catch and shoot player so adding him doesn’t hurt anyone else’s volume. His creation alone would’ve won Orlando the series against Cleveland this year.He would be the magics worst defensive player but you cant have 12 great defensive players when you’re building a contender. Simons is much better than people realize I think this would move would be the next step in the magic taking strides to the future. Projected Starting 5: Simons Suggs Franz Paolo Carter

Why the Blazers Do It:

• Portland is just looking to get younger, add assets, give more minutes and opportunities to guys like Scoot and Sharpe, but most importantly they need to tank for Cooper Flagg. Black is a multi positional player so I think he’s good enough long term that even with other guard prospects on this team he’s gonna be an important piece. The 3 guard tandem could be enticing or Black would make a great plug in player. I think there’s a reality where black is the best long term as he has the defense and shooting ahead of both right now. So his floor is already higher than both imo.
