I know some people will criticize this trade since the Lakers are not getting any stars in return, but I believe Grant, Simons and Caruso all complement LeBron and AD in starting 5 extremely well, with Grant and Caruso bringing defense and shooting and Simons being the 3rd scoring option. Brogdon becomes the primary ball handler coming off the bench giving some necessary rest to LeBron, and complementing the bench with veterans such as Beverley, Lowry, Hayward, Drummond and maybe even DeRozan, can give LeBron a similar roster to what the Lakers had in 2020, both in talent and also in terms of atributes. Firing Ham and bringing in a better coach will also help this team have a final run before LeBron retires.
