Second Giannis trade.
Why the Bucks do this:
Seven firsts plus some assets whose value will increase in bigger roles, Milwaukee’s going to suck in ‘26 but they have the picks to make it worthwhile.
Why the Grizzlies do this:
Memphis gets tired of the Ja saga and decides to swap him for LaMelo who is on a slightly better contract, giving up a low-value first in the process.
Why the Hornets do this:
Charlotte clears a bunch of bad contracts to bring in Giannis and Sabonis, cementing them as extremely strong contenders for the next 3 years while retaining most of their draft arsenal.
Why the Kings do this:
Sacramento’s been wanting to get off of Sabonis for a while, and this seems to be the best way to do it. They also acquire Morant to be the franchise cornerstone in the short term and hope he can bounce back to what he was just a few short years ago.
Why the Blazers do this:
Swapping Grant off for DeRozan who is better and on a better contract, plus bringing in competent backup center Portis. Portland takes that next step toward contention here.
What do you think of this deal? Who accepts, who passes, and why? Looking forward to the discussion in the comments.
