I saw earlier that the Knicks are the favorites to trade for Austin Reaves this offseason, this feels like a swap that both teams would agree too. Breakdown below:
LAKERS: Assuming the Lakers want to move on from Reaves, and the Knicks are the team to make the trade, getting Robinson back should be the move. Robinson would slide right into the starting Center spot, they can use their MLE on him to save a good chunk of money. They should be able to resign him, but also, with Luka's extension looming, just saving money against the cap and Aprons makes this a worth while trade. Kolek makes the money work, and they get a pick cause Reaves has more perceived value (at least to me, maybe I'm wrong). Also, the Lakers have other tradable Vets to make moves for other starters/role players Starting Lineup: PG: Luka, SG: Free Agent/Trade , SF: Rui, PF: Lebron, C: Robinson Bench: DFS, Vanderbilt, Knecht, Vincent
KNICKS: Why would the Knicks want Reaves? Well he would be more of a scoring option next to Brunson and KAT than Hart, Bridges, and Anunoby who are all defense first. He could start, but also be a great sixth man. The are also losing a lot of guard minutes in free agency. They may deem Robinson expendable now that he is a backup, and might not want to resign him next offseason with other expensive players on the roster, move him now to get some value. This also gets the Knicks under the first Apron meaning they can make bigger moves Starting Lineup: PG: Brunson, SG: Reaves, SF: Bridges, PF: Anunoby, C: KAT, sixth: Hart or: PG: Brunson, SG: Bridges, SF: Anunoby, PF: Hart, C: KAT, sixth: Bridges Bench: McBride, lots of Free Agents
