3 Contenders shuffle the deck

SUCCESS

Not the flashiest trade, but all 3 of these teams seem to be chomping to do something... Also, all teams lower their tax liability by a bit in this trade, which is important..

Kings move off of Huerter (bad contract with another year), Alex Len and and Trey Lyles. Incoming is Connington (similar player to Hueter, but his "bad" contract is at 7 mil less per year), Rui Hachimura (instantly a useful 6th man / frontcourt rotation player with height who can spell DeRozen / Murray), Hayes (potential backup 5 minutes / replacing Lyles) and get a young guard to develop behing Ellis (Jackson Jr.). If they wanted to reduce salary, Jackson could go to LAL and Lakers send their 2025 2nd to SAC, but I think SAC would prefer the developmental player. If they dont work out, Rui and Connington become expirings after this year as well.

Bucks give up Bobby Portis and 2 recent 2nd round picks/players (Jackson / Smith), but also move off Connington's contract. Since they are over the second apron, they cannot recieve a player making more than Portis' 12.5. In return, they get Lyles to replace Portis (and play backup C on an expiring), Vincent to supply a better / steadier role in the backcourt to upgrade from Connington, see what JHS is about / if Christian Wood can contribute in the playoffs. Since they are giving up the 2 younger players (while getting back JHS on an expiring), they also get a 2025 2nd to replace the 2023 / 2024 2nd round players they're sending out. Payroll liability for next season reduced by around 14 million if they chose not to resign Lyles.

Lakers empty the chamber and move Rui, Vincent, JHS, Wood, Hayes, and one of their 2025 2nds. In return, they get a few bigs, just not the rumored ones - Bobby Portis can play 4/5 with AD, get a developmental big in Smith / veteran big in Len, and they see if Huerter can provide some playmaking / replace Vincent, The Lakers drop the most money against the cap this season (7 mil), but increase their guaranteed $ for next season - I didn't see a player in the 9 million range on MIL/SAC that would be an additional "bad" contract to send back, and the Lakers are chipping in the pick (2 picks if you put Jackson on LAL / send a second to SAC).
