James Harden goes to CHICAGO in this star-for-star swap

SUCCESS

Welcome back to another trade by kawntent sports. In this star for star swap, James Harden heads to the Windy City with some second round picks in exchange for Zach LaVine. Let’s get right into the explanations.

Why the Sixers do this:

If the Sixers want to maximize their contending window around Embiid, they need to get a star in exchange for Harden. This deal does just that, bringing in a perennial All-Star level player who could use a new home in Zach LaVine. They manage to get a star on a longer contract without giving up much beyond Harden.

Why the Bulls do this:

The Bulls are getting nowhere with their current core, yet they just re-signed several of their older players such as Vucevic. If they’re going to do anything they need a new number 1 option, and Harden comes in as just that: an upgraded version of LaVine. The Bulls should immediately be a top-5 team in the conference after this deal and have a real shot at a title. They also get flexibility due to the nature of Hardens short contract.

Let me know what you think in the comments! Should the Bulls look to get James Harden or should some other team (besides LAC) try to get him?
