Given Jalen Duren's incredible season, he's raised his value for his next contract significantly. That makes it much harder to re-sign Ivey, plus the Pistons have other players who can fill in Ivey's role. But an elite shooting forward like MPJ is a perfect fit for this team. Meanwhile, Jaden Ivey would be a solid addition to the Nets young core- a guard who can play off-ball and can shoot as an outlet for all their passing-focused rookies, but he is also willing and capable of running an offense and facilitating unlike Cam Thomas.
I could see the Nets asking for a couple of seconds as well, but the Pistons would be able to hold on to their most valuable picks (as well as larger movable contracts in Duncan Robinson and Caris Levert) for another potential move later on.
