Hawks have two young core guys on great contracts so they can afford the butler contract for a few years. They have the big man depth to replace Capela. They do not have lots of trade able draft picks, so going to for Butler maybe thier only realistic option with out trading away valuable young guys to get an Allstar caliber player. This helps them compete now without hindering the development of the young guys.

Miami gets a younger player in Hunter and a center that start with Bam or come off the bench depending on the matchup. They will also get some kind of draft compensation as well.

This isn’t exactly what I’m saying a hawks Miami trade would be, but there’s definitely a good fit for both teams to at least talk trade.
