For San Antonio, Harper doesn’t fill a positional need and would make for a crowded guard room…but drafting Bailey or anyone else at 2 feels like a heavy reach. Meanwhile, the potential of a Sarr-Wemby frontcourt on both sides of the ball is limitless, and well worth giving a shot considering they still keep a T6 pick in the same draft. If you’re Washington, you need a franchise cornerstone…badly—and the truth is Alex Sarr isn’t quite that. Not only that, but the prospects likely available at 6 aren’t screaming “franchise cornerstone” either. Overpaying for Harper is risky, but when you have so little to lose, I think you swing for the fences and try to find someone who can finally give you the sense of direction you’ve desperately been hoping for.
