Why all teams do this:
Raptors: While acquiring Kawhi you also acquire big man Domantas Sabonis which adds rebounding scoring and playmaking which is all needed for this team. Giving up RJ Barret hurts, but you get off Jakob Poeltl's Contract and don't have to get rid of much draft capital.
Grade B+
Kings: The Kings are a terrible team right now and besides Darius Acuff Jr., Sabonis is really their only valuable trade piece. They only get one first round pick and have to take on poeltl's contract but get a very valuable piece known as RJ Barret. Sabonis also isn't getting younger and getting a return like this would be a good return for what Sabonis's value has depleted to.
Grade B
Clippers: They already agreed to send Kawhi to the Raptors and I think they especially want to do this deal even more because of what the allegations did to their future draft capital.
