Mavericks The Mavs move on from AD and give the third most efficient 3pt shooter in the league, Max Christie, to the Hawks, for 70 million, yes 70 million worth of expiring contracts and the Pelicans 1st round pick this year plus a 2028 1st.
It's is a gamble, AD is a top 15-20 player, and two-way beast WHEN HEALTHY, and Max Christie has been one of the best 3pt shooters in the league this year and is only still just 22 YEARS OLD!. They are giving a lot, but if that Pelicans pick turns into a top 4, it would all be worth it, to pair along side Flagg a young prospect.
Hawks The cats out of the bag, the Hawks are worse with Trae Young than without him, They capitalize on whatever value he still has left, plus the Pelicans 1st to get themselves 3 really good players. CJ McCollum pretty much just replaces Trae Young, CJ has been playing really good this year, then they add a young 3&D god in Max Christie, and last but not least they get the generational defensive anchor in Anthony Davies, and 2nd option to Jalen Johnson to lead them to the finals in the perhaps previously wide open East, that's looking tougher and tougher as the season grows.
This is disgusting for the Hawks, I think they get the best deal in this trade.
Wizards They suck and have always sucked, they take a gamble converting two expiring contracts and a 1st round pick (I think it isn't that good of a pick, but I don't understand who owns what in it lol) into a former all-star Trae Young, maybe he will work in Washington :) lol.
Not terrible for them, I think there can be adjustments to this trade for all sides, just threw this trade together real quick with all the rumors. I Like the idea of it. Got to be honest as a Mavs fan, letting go of Max Christie in this is really tough. Maybe there is a way for us to keep him.
