Three teams off to a rough start this season get together on a trade that will hopefully change their fortunes.
Los Angeles finds a taker for Russ while landing a new PG in Russell, Center in Plumlee and a wing in Oubre that could all end up in the starting lineup with Lebron and AD. LA holds on to all its cap space for next year plus will have bird rights on all 3 players they acquired. The Lakers would also send whatever cash they have available to trade (could be up to &6M) to the Hornets to make up the difference in salaries both teams took on
LAKERS POTENTIAL DEPTH CHART AFTER TRADE
PG: Russell/Schroeder
SG: Walker/Reaves
SF: Oubre/Brown
PF: James/Toscano
C: Davis/Plumlee
Minnesota shakes things up after a rough start by getting an above average, in his prime long term PG with a very reasonable contract in Rozier & bringing back Beverly who was the heart and soul of the Minnesota team last year to toughen up the teams defense.
With the open roster spot MIN would sign FA C Hassan Whiteside to a one year minimum contract.
WOLVES POTENTIAL DEPTH CHART AFTER TRADE
C: Gobert/Whiteside
PF: Towns/Anderson
SF: McDaniels/Prince
SG: Edwards/Forbes
PG: Rozier/Beverly
Charlotte become the first team to officially start the tank for Wembanyama and help insure they hold on to their 2023 #1 pick that could potentially go to the Spurs (its top 16 protected). CHA lands an unprotected #1 in '27 from LA, along with a potential top 40 pick next year for taking on Westbrooks contract while also picking up 2 intriguing young talents in Reid who could take over as the starting C & Nowell who could start at SG. Both will be RFA's after the season so could easily be brought back if they thrive for the Hornets.
HORNETS POTENTIAL DEPTH CHART AFTER TRADE
C: Reid/Richards
PF: Washington/Thor
SF: Heyward/McDaniels
SG: Nowell/Bouknight
PG: Ball/Smith Jr.
