This trade is a little less than what I'd want, simply out of lack of elite POA defense. However Hayward, Niang, and Martin are solid enough to play good team defense, on top of being able to lean on the elite rim protection from Allen and free safety defense from Draymond. It also gives legit shot making AND shot creation. Hayward is still a borderline All Star caliber scorer, he just doesn't get the touches he once did, and rightfully so for where Charlotte is at. But, he's still 10x the creator Wiggins is. Terry would be used as a 6th man, replacing CP and offering elite guard shot creation off the bench to give the 2nd unit that punch, and play solid on ball defense for a guard. Podz gets to step up tho as lead playmaker in that group, and we also know Dario can move the rock well.
From the Hornets perspective, they're set to drop Miles Bridges for obvious reasons, and can use an up and coming 2 way forward like Kuminga to pair with Lamelo and Brandon Miller. They do take on 2 dumps in CP and Loon, but they get compensated for it with a Top 5 protected FRP and Gui Santos (up and coming point forward in the Warriors org). Charlotte also gets a stab at Isaac Okoro, who hasn't quite worked out in Cleveland. There's still potential for him to be a solid 3&D guard/wing, and with the Hornets sending Cody Martin to GS, that should open up minutes for Okoro. Charlotte compensates Cleveland with a lottery protected 2027 FRP and a 2024 SRP.
From the Cavs perspective, they get to open the floor for themselves. Mobley is the future, and Garland feels like the pick to stay in Cleveland with the Donovan Mitchell rumors running wild lately. Nevertheless, Cleveland is still competing and aren't looking to rebuild. Thusly, they get back Andrew Wiggins, their former #1 overall pick, hopefully rejuvenated by the change of scenery. Despite Wiggins'strugles this season, he's shown flashes over the last month that he can still be that guy from 2022. In a more traditional PnR, iso, and drive and kick offense, Wiggins might feel more comfortable again. On top of that, Cleveland also gets GP2 who's still a borderline elite on ball defender, as well as Moses Moody who just needs the damn PT cause there's a 15 & 5 guy just waiting to break loose, but just won't see the floor is GS. Cleveland also gets 2 SRPs from GS, and the previously mentioned draft comp from Charlotte.
