76ers take the #3 and get out from under PG's contract, which runs 3 more years. Bring in Zion, who is actually the same age as Maxey, and allow for both a build around Embiid & a run on Maxey / McCain timeline. They also take the last year of Olynyk's salary, and use him as as a potential 4/5 floater, depending on injuries. It leaves PHI with a need for a wing, so not the cleanest fit but, if one of Zion or Joel are healthy, this team competes; If both are healthy, other teams might have problems.
Hornets take on PG and his contract for the next 3 years, and hope he can play in wing-heavy lineups. McCollum expires after this year, leaving PG and Murray as the High $ salaries (since Murray & Murphy are locked in for a few years). Paul allows them to compete a bit next year even with Murray rehabbing, while bringing in both the #3 (Edgecombe and his offense?) and #7 to build around with Herb Jones (26), Murphy (24), and possibly Missi (20), and keeping both firsts for next year's loaded class.
