Trade Details
Heat receive: Damian Lillard and Devonte Graham
Spurs receive: Tyler Herro
Blazers receive: Kyle Lowry, Doug McDermott, Nikola Jovic, 2024 CHA Lottery Protected FRP, 2025 ATL FRP, 2027 MIA Pick Swap, 2028 MIA FRP, 2029 MIA Pick Swap, 2030 MIA FRP
Heat Explanation: There’s really no need to explain this, it’s Dame Time.
Spurs Explanation: Herro is a really solid player and fits San Antonio’s timeline well. He could give them 20 every night and has some All Star potential. This gives Victor another great player to grow alongside. They also don’t have to give up much for him as they only give up vets, a first, and a protected first.
Blazers Explanation: Portland could probably get better offers for Adams elsewhere, but he said he wants to go to the South Beach. Miami can only trade their 2028 and 2030 FRP so it means the Blazers won’t get as good of a return. Plus, Portland isn’t really interested in Herro. Getting Lowry and McDermott’s expiring contracts is nice because it can give them financial flexibility next year. Lowry would also be a great mentor for their young guards. They get a young guy in Jovic, 3 FRP, a protected FRP, and pick swaps which can start the Blazers rebuild.
