We have all seen the reports, Ayton is all but gone from Phoenix. If they are smart they find a way to negotiate a sign-and-trade so they are able to get something in return for him given that they don't seem likely to match a max offer sheet. Hornets have been searching desperately for a long term and talented option at the center to pair with LaMelo. They finally get it here in Ayton. The Mavericks also get involved in the deal to get some help for Luka by going after Hayward who has been rumored to want out as well. His value isn't as high as it once was but the Mavs still get a player that adds playmaking and shot creation as well as some other role players in the deal. The Hornets get sharpshooter Tim Hardaway back as well as shooting off the bench. Phoenix will be looking to maximize what they can out of Ayton leaving. Young talent in PJ Washington and Bouknight as well as former Sun wing Kelly Oubre come back. Dwight Powell also comes over to give them a nice rim rolling lob threat big, types that always thrive with Chris Paul. They also pick up a first round pick from Charlotte that should land them a solid player in a class that is pretty deep.
