This is probably slight overpay from the Mavs for a guys who has had consecutive down years but he's still cheaper than most alternatives plus they don't have hardly any backcourt defense that's consistent DLo is not reliable Christie is pretty one dimensional and Kyrie is out for a while and they feel like a win now team so this is a move I could see them make

For the wizards they get an expiring contract that they don't need long term just to provide a lot of future cap as well as acquire yet another young guard for their core maybe he will play maybe he won't but I think they'll have a near 12 man rotation so I could see him maybe stepping up unlike in Dallas who will be trying to compete when Kyrie is back
