Spurs need a point guard who is a legit scoring threat in the pick-and-roll and can help setup Wemby for easier buckets, in which he'll require players who can better space the floor for him. The best way to give Wembanyama sufficient spacing is giving him a 1-guard who can pullup in a two-man action while being someone who can fully utilize the guys moving around the perimeter (Vassell, Keldon, Bullock) through consistent skip passes. Tyus is a great 3-point shooter, especially on pullups, off-screens, and in transition, and is one of the most effective passers in the league. He has successfully led the Grizzlies with JJJ and Clarke as his big man partners in wins without Morant and he'll be an actual respectable pullup threat, lob passer, pick-and-roll maestro, and defensive disruptor with a bigger role. He is on an expiring contract, hence the decreased value from last year, but the Spurs may be one of the few teams who can be confident in re-signing him with his brother Tre Jones also under contract for the team, and with Tyus being favored with a good prime of his career playing with Wembanyama as his big man. Tyus ideally starts and plays the most minutes with Wembanyama of any guard, while the Spurs can roll with Tre's mismatch exploiting and Branham's scoring off-the-bench.

2026 NOP/POR pick is less favorable.

Dallas needs to get rid of JaVale's $6M in 2025, who has no shot in getting minutes over a center rotation of Lively, Kleber, Dwight Powell (Kidd's favorite), and possibly Derrick Jones (in small ball situations). They do get rid of JaVale's final year while also getting a decent wing veteran in Osman in return who can up the team's pace and be a functional connective passer and ocassional scorer for them, which is a good bonus since two-second round picks is the normal price for getting rid of a benchwarmer for $6M. They'd be able to sign more meaningful players with that money instead.

Washington gets a project player with outstanding potential in Blake Wesley. One of the quickest guards in the league who is perhaps raw in every other skillset yet. He needs to be in a situation with a team undecided who to build their franchise around to freely give him reps to develop or otherwise his success in the league would heavily depend on his non-athletic traits. The Wizards can play Delon Wright as their steady point guard for this tank year while they let their young players who the team can have control over their futures play out who becomes part of their future plans. Avdija should finally be given the on-ball reps the Wizards have robbed him off his whole NBA career and McGee can play minutes as backup center.
