Of course if they win the title this won't be necessary
WHY WARRIORS DO IT:
They prepare for a rebuild after the play-in or 1st round exit. The CP3 waive is "part" of the deal.
WHY WIZARDS DO IT:
Don't even look at the swaps, it changes nothing for them. GSW has the chance to swap AFTER Washington (and the other teams, if there are any, I don't remember)
Their "active" part of the trade is giving those 3 seconds to GSW and accepting to S&T Damion Lee for 3y/9m contract for an unprotected 2031 pick swap with PHX. GSW has the swap rights in 2031 too, but AFTER Washington.
WHY SUNS DO IT:
The ultimate all in. The trade is legal on july 30th because rookies (their 1RP) can't be traded for 1 month after signing.
Re-signings: Allen, Royce, Bol, Young, Saben Lee, Gordon
Minimums from FA: CP3, Bullock, Covington and Zeller
2024-25 team:
Starting 5: Beal, Book, KD, Draymond, Looney
Bench: CP3, Gordon, Allen, Royce, Covington, Zeller
Others: Saben Lee, Bullock, Thad Y, BolBol
Very short window, but they simply can't lose with this team.
