Why Chicago (might) do this deal: Levine and DDR doesn't seem to be their future, so they cash in their assets to get Towns who can complement Levine and stretch the floor. They also get back a point guard (a position of need with Lonzo out).
Why the Clippers (might) do this deal: They get a center on a good contract who can rebound and stretch the floor that is also very durable (played all 82 last season), who can carry a bit while the stars are load managing.
Why Minnesota (might) do this deal: They are already getting pennies on the dollar trading Gobert and Kat, but instead of getting draft assets back, they get win now players who fit well into their current needs. DDR gives them another ball handler who can score, Ayton is a cheaper C who is still a solid 18/10 and in winning time you can go to Naz Reid with Ant, DDR, Kyle Anderson, and Conley.
Why Phoenix (might) do this deal: They are already knee deep in the luxury so whats a little bit more money? Gobert and Caruso add rim protection and point of attack defense and don't take many shots so they can complement the Booker, Beal, KD trio with all the shots they are going to be taking.
