With Giannis requesting a trade, I think a team like the Pacers takes a swing at this MVP candidate. Now, I know that Bucks fans probably don't want to see him get paired up with the Halliban, but damn, wouldn't this duo be electric?
Pacers: I really don't think this trade is possible if Haliburton doesn't get injured. Yes, Siakam has been great, and I think he is a perfect jack-of-all-trades sort of player, and Walker is still intriguing, but that 2026 FRP is looking so juicy right now. I believe that is the linchpin of this trade. I'm sure some Pacers fans would rather keep this pick, but I think if you have the opportunity to get a top 3 player, you do whatever it takes. I believe trading for Giannis is a no-brainer. Adding him to the team solves a lot of the defensive deficiencies Turner left in his wake when he signed with Milwaukee. Obviously, this team still isn't super competitive this year with all the injuries, but next year, a starting lineup of Hali, Nembhard, Mathurin, Giannis and center would be a top team in the East.
Bucks: Giannis wants to leave, but I really think he would like to stay in the weaker East so he can more easily compete for a deep playoff push. I think it is hard to truly pinpoint the value of a player of Giannis's caliber, but an all-star, a young prospect, and as many FRPs as you can give has got to at least get their attention? Siakam might not stay long-term, but could be flipped to another team for further assets. Maybe they could use Siakam to get some of their picks back from the Hawks or Pelicans. At the end of the day, I think another team can offer something better, such as the Spurs or Thunder, but I think it would be nice to see him stay in the East (downbad Clippers fan).
At the end of the day, I think the Bucks will try as hard as possible to start a bidding war for Giannis to recoup their low draft capital, so they probably wouldn't take this deal. Let me know what y'all think!
