It’s no shocker that the Lauri Markkanen is on the trade block especially seeing how bad Utah is starting off this season. But the asking price seems a bit steep for any of the normal contenders.That we hear of to go out and try and get him. Teams like Golden state Miami the Lakers or the Knicks. I feel like would be reluctant to make a move like that for a guy in Markkanen. Who last season showed the ability to be a high impact player.

This is where a team like OKC comes into the equation. The OKC Thunder are loaded today‼️ Not only do they have their starter already figured out and they have a super star and a young star in the Making. My bad 2 young stars in the making with the emergence of J Dub last year.

Adding Lauri Markkanen to to this already loaded roster would be like the front office. Paying the fan base back for the mistake they made years ago when they chose not to re-sign James Harden.

Adding Markkanen to this roster would make the Thunder one of the tallest and most talented lineups in the league.

Giddey 6’8 SGA 6’6 J Dub 6’5 Markkanen 7’0 Holmgren 7’2

This mix of size and athleticism could be dangerous for any team in the west. Because it would just be size that they’re dealing with. They would be dealing with Size speed and incredible talent. A starting lineup of guys who can all go for 20 at any given time. A lineup of guys who can all shoot the 3 ball at decent percentages. And a Superstar play in SGA who could honestly be this years league MVP.

My opinion this would take OKC over the top and make them one of the toughest teams in the league to deal with. If you haven’t noticed the league is going taller. OKC could be the next team to win using this type of strategy.

Saying that because the Nuggets as well had a huge lineup going into the playoffs last season. With Murray at 6’5 being the smallest guy in the lineup.

Utah would set themselves up for being a team in all draft conversations for years to come. While still having Young Talent on that roster. Guys like Sexton, Kessler, George still are really high upside talents. So in all actuality losing Lauri wouldn’t be that big of a hit to this roster. Dort and Wiggins can find ways to fit in the lineup. But UTAH still has a bright future with or without Markkanen
