Been thinking about Simmons trades - he makes sense for a rebuilding team to take a chance on, but who has the pieces to send Philly since Philly wants to contend? I think this trade is a perfect solution

Philly: Gets a legitimate playoff PG, and a championship level performer in Lowry (sign & trade). They also add a solid wing and great role player in Dort. The lineup would look something like

Lowry - Dort - Thybulle - Harris - Embiid. Pretty fantastic if you ask me. That's a team that can defend anyone and suddenly has 4 capable shooters around Embiid. Whenever Seth comes in off the bench it turns into a team with 4 good shooters and Embiid

OKC: Oklahoma City watched what happened with Boston and Philadelphia's asset troves and recognizes they have to turn their bevy of picks into stars. Not good players, but stars. Dort is awesome. The guys at #16 and #18 could be awesome. But Simmons is a potential star, and he's the only potential star they can trade for while he's on a long enough deal to actually stay in OKC. Simmons, Shai, and whoever gets picked at #6 become the nucleus for an accelerated rebuild. OKC simply can't afford to keep all their picks - too many won't get minutes and will be wasted. This is 120% on the dollar, but Simmons is worth it.

Toronto: Toronto is a team torn between continuing to contend for the playoffs and rebuilding. After landing the 4th pick in the lottery, trading Lowry allows them to rebuild around Paskal Siakam. With the number of picks they get from OKC, expect this rebuild to also be accelerated - Paskal, OG, FVV, #4 (Jalen Suggs?), #16, #18 and a future first from Phoenix is a pretty great haul, similar to the Jrue Holiday trade. They do take on the Kemba deal, but in this situation Toronto recognizes they won't contend in 2021 and the deal is an expiring contract in 2022 and would be easily movable if Toronto is ready to compete then.

Potential adjustments: I could see a pick from Philly going to Toronto in this deal, either in addition to or instead of one of the OKC picks.
