With Butler tearing up his knee kings HAVE to offload him if they want to have any chance of winning the title. If not, they ll basically have a dead contact (since he ll probably be fine on the middle of his last season)

For me this trade makes so much sense.

Kings get a 1st and a swap, while also getting Kuminga.

Also they get off Lavine and Demart to help them head start their rebuild.

Butler contract could be bought out, or maybe even get traded at the trade deadline next season, if he is good. If not it doesn’t matter cause it will expire soon
