This trade sees Murray finally being moved from Atlanta and finding a new home in Utah. For Utah, this brings in a true point guard to run the show, creating a starting five of Murray-Sexton-Markkanen-Collins-Kessler with some quality young players such as George, Agbaji, and Hendricks plus Olynyk off the bench. This sets the team up for several years. It comes at the cost of Clarkson, who is much older than the core of the team, and two picks which are lower in value. Overall, Utah gets a bonafide starter point guard to lead this team into the future. The only issue here is the money, as Murray's contract is significantly higher than Clarkson's starting next season and threatens to put them into the luxury tax for I believe the first time in their history if I remember correctly.

For the Knicks, they get their perfect bench piece to help lead this team deep into the playoffs. Clarkson is performing well, and although he is slightly older than the core of this team, he certainly shows no signs of slowing down. With reports that Klutch and the Knicks have patched their riff, a Clarkson move is much more plausible. This trade helps them significantly more than bringing in Brogdon as Clarkson will be making only $14 million next season and the season after, paving the way for the Knicks to sign OG and Hartenstein. It comes at the cost of Fournier's contract, Grimes, and a late first next year. Although it sucks to give up on Grimes, Knicks are in win-now mode and a move like this is inevitable.

For the Hawks, it is reported their asking price is a starting calibre player and two firsts. Although this trade does not see them get back exactly that, Grimes is a prospect who I think would thrive off-ball next to Trae or off the bench. They get back 3 first-round picks, though most will probably be late firsts, Fournier's expiring contract and move off of Murray opening up significant cap space to try to find another quality star to pair with Young. I would say the Hawks are most likely to decline here and would probably demand either a better player or better picks.

Overall, I think this trade benefits all teams involved. If I had to guess, I would say the Jazz come out on top, followed by the Knicks and then the Hawks. What would you change about this trade? Who wins? Let me know your thoughts below! Please keep it civil as this is just my opinion and I am sure others disagree :)
