Kings Offseason Plan to become a playoff team

SUCCESS

The Kings plan this off-season should be to get some players around D’aaron Fox and contend for a playoff spot. The Kings have 2 overpaid guys on there roster, Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes. The most realistic guy to trade is Buddy Hield. You send him to the Lakers and get two guys with potential, KCP and Kuzma, and gives you the ability to sign a big free agent. Going into free agency the Kings need to play smart. They need to sign one of Hassan Whiteside or Richaun Holmes. Since Holmes has outplayed Whiteside this past year, Holmes should be resigned on a 10-15 million dollar deal. You also accept the team option on Marvin Bagley. Now they can get a veteran player who can come in and be the best or second best guy on the team in DeMar Derozan. Only a few teams seem interested in Derozan and aren’t willing to pay more than 15 million dollars. With this trade the Kings would have enough money to get him on a 3 year deal. This would give the Kings a roster of

PG: D’aaron Fox, Delon Wright SG: Tyrese Halliburton, KCP, Jahmi’us Ramsey SF: DeMar Derozan, Harrison Barnes, Justin James PF: Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley C: Richaun Holmes, Robert Woodard

Depending on who is available in the draft you could set yourself with a good starting lineup and a depthy bench.

For the Lakers, they are looking to contend this year and with Lebron only getting older they have to trade there younger pieces to get veteran pieces that are better. Getting Buddy Hield gives them that elite 3 point shooter they need next to Lebron. Neither Kuzma or KCP has huge roles on this season and can easily be replaced. In free agency you should very much look to keeping Drummond, THT, Wesley Matthews, and Caruso. You should be able to have enough money to resign one of Dennis Schroder or Montrezl Harrell. Either way, this Lakers team still has enough pieces to contend with.
