Pacers get a starting center, Mavs get Bennedict Matharin

Pacers obviously need a starting center- not much to say there. The Pacers already have a significant amount of money tied up in their core players and Daniel Gafford is on a really team-friendly contract. He's a very different type of player from Myles Turner, but Turner's defense/rebounding was one of the Pacers weak points in their playoff run. Gafford, on the other hand, is a very reliable defender and rebounder and while he doesn't bring as lot to the table offensively, he is incredibly efficient on that end and is a high-level lob threat, especially if Haliburton is the one throwing it.

Meanwhile, Bennedict Mathurin has shown himself to be a solid scoring wing. However, his play style hasn't yet found a place within the Pacers system. His offense would be a meaningful boon to the Mavericks without taking away much on the defensive end. He also fits Dallas' timeline. He provides a skillset not found on the current roster, but more importantly, once the Mavericks eventually commit to the younger core, he slots in perfectly. Their young line-up would consist of Ryan Nembhard (22), Max Christie (22), Bennedict Mathurin (23), Cooper Flagg (18), Dereck Lively (21). Now Nembhard likely won't be the long term answer at the 1, but they still have plenty of trade assets to find that piece.

It's hard to say if either team would need to include picks in this deal due to the contract situations.
