Warriors

The Warriors dynasty has closed. Klay is gone, Steph and Dray are aging, they're closer to a lottery pick than a championship. If you have Steph on the roster, you MUST try everything to win. Even at this age, he's still a top 10 player in the league and your franchise's greatest player ever. He was the best player on your title team 2 years ago and if you want to get anywhere close to replicating that, you need a second star. That's where Lauri enters. Arguably the best off ball player in the league, he'd be a great second star next the Steph and with Kuminga in the front court. The Warriors have had a good offseason, bringing in Buddy, Slomo, and Melton but this is the move they need to put them back into the playoffs and potentially go on a run. Podz and Moody are good but I doubt they'll ever be as good as Lauri, and having a second star for Steph is much more valuable.

Ideal Starting 5: Steph Curry-Buddy Hield-Lauri Markannen-Jonathan Kuminga-Draymond Green

Jazz

Lauri is simply too good to be on this Jazz team. They're not ready to compete yet but with Lauri on the team, they're in a similar situation as the Spurs before the Dejounte Murray trade, a bad team being dragged to mediocrity by an all star. Moody and Podz are two great young players who can develop into elite role players for the Jazz in the future. Podz was all rookie first team averaging 9/6/4 on 39% from 3. Moody hasn't been given much of a chance by Kerr and the Warriors but his per 36 is around 17 PPG so he could definitely be good with an increased role in Utah. They also get 2 future Warriors FRPs and 2 pick swaps. With Curry likely retired by 2028 and the Warriors future with much uncertainty after him, those could very easily be high lottery picks which would come in handy for the Jazz's rebuild.

Ideal Starting 5: Keyonte George-Brandin Podziemski-Cody Williams-Taylor Hendricks-Walker Kessler
