(With Stew and Joe deals think the money does work)

Apparently the pistons and Duren are struggling to agree on a deal opening up the small possibility of a sign and trade and I think the deal although unrealistic and unlikely would make sense for all three.

Clippers You end the Leonard era and take on probably one of the worst contracts in a few years, love Embiid but his body Cannot sustain a full season and playoffs. In return you get your picks back after 2027 which apparently isn’t a strong class anyway and with the new lottery system you need to be somewhat competitive and with Garland your recent number 5 pick and the games you get out of Embiid I can see you being in that 12-10 range you need for good odds going forward.

Hurts losing Embiid given the years you had with him but you get off his contract and start to fully build around your new young guys in Maxey and VJ. Granted Duren was bad in the playoffs and for the amount of money he is asking for it is a risk but if it plays out a starting 5 of Maxey, VJ, Duncan, George, Duren could be competitive.

Pistons

Probably the most skeptical about this, realistically does Leonard want to play in Detroit? Probably not will he resign to the Pistons again unlikely but for the year at least it will be very fun to see him play next to Cade, obviously you’d now need to go get a new centre but with all due respect it’s pretty easy to play next to Cade not sure exactly who and what you’d have to give up but for example a Daniel Gafford type would work and a five of Cade, Joe, Ausar, Leonard and who ever you get is a team more suited to playoff basketball then we saw last year.

More picks probably would have to be sent somewhere, this offseason truly has messed with the way teams value players and picks so would like to hear any changes, again just to say this isn’t happening ever but a fun idea I think. Thanks for reading
