This is possible now that Dennis Schorder's signing to Sacramento is listed as a sign and trade meaning the Pistons can receive a salary no greater than 22.6 million dollars in return. This would be a possible trade option giving the clippers a younger more athletic version of Norman Powell whose on a slightly more team friendly deal while the Pistons receive a top 6th man of the year candidate and bench scoring option to pair with Cade.
Only issues I can see are defensively, this is not the greatest trade. Pistons were already a subpar defensive team in the league, sneaking into the top 10 near the end of the regular season. Signing Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert are great on paper, but doesn't help your defense going forward. This trade would only solidify their offensive focus and find a replacement for Beasley's scoring punch. Anther issue is the lack of bigs on this roster and a potential guard jam. They're already struggling to find minutes for Ron Holland with their new rotation, and adding Powell would make it nearly impossible to do so. Though he would be a fantastic vet for the younger guys, he's not so great in combination with the rest of the team.
On the flip side, if the Pistons find themselves out on Jaden Ivey's return, this would incline them to go after a more defensively oriented forward in a trade. I doubt that'll happen, but if it does, this trade would make much more sense in hindsight.
